At the end of last season everyone was amped and could barely wait for another season that they thought would run smother since "the season of changes" was over (Kara entering, the save, etc.). Then after awhile many fans were outranged when they found that Paula would not be returning. Who could possibly have as much talent as her? Who has as much expiriance that Paula had held? Who could ever replace her?....Ellen? Degeneres is a new idol.... judge? When the news of Paula was released some people thought Three! Now they will stick with three! Others thought of people who should be the new judge, but Ellen was never mentioned. Until that faithful day on her show
"I can finally tell you.... I'm the new idol judge!" DeGeneres declared on her show.
Yet.... wait... those dedicated Idol fans know that auditions start in summer so.... Idol's website told all; Ellen would start on the show during Hollywood week. In the meantime (during auditions) guess stars would help decide who will have a chance to be in the heart of entertainment; Hollywood.
Change! Enough to last a lifetime in the last two seasons so next year lets keep it the same as this year, OK? NO! Simon had his own announcement. This year would be his last! Weather your a Simon hater or a secret lover, you would have to admit that Idol could never be as good with out his some what brutal truth. What reason does he have to leave? To chase after Paula who some say should be true lovers. Saula videos have dominated YouTube and Google videos. But no... that was not the reason. Did he want to only be in Britain? NO! Actually quite the opposite! Next year would start the first season of X-factor in the US. If you do not know X-Factor is the very popular British talent search show that has the household legend, Simon, just happens to judge while not doing Idol!
This year will embark on many changes some for better some for worse, but please stay tuned even if you have not watched before you decide changes can't be a good thing!

Idol is Dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Idol has always been a favorite for families, couples, musicians, and really anybody with a T.V. Paula Abdul was one of the most interesting and loved judges who attracted many fans to watch the show. Though most people mainly tuned in to American Idol to watch new talent something that had many viewers on the edge of their seats was the chemistry between Simon and Paula... you would never know what they would say to each other (or give to each other). Saula was a very popular subject. Sadly Paula's last season was in '09. That was one blow t0 the head for Idol.
Adding a fourth judge could have a good idea, but they failed at making a good pick. Another performer would have been a good idea, probably a singer at that. Instead Idol picked an unknown, bitter, bad lyricrist. Something that just worked out SO well was that it just happened that Kara had lived with Abdul and Paula was the one that got Dioguardi's feet of the ground, weird right? So with that bad decision it was a kick in the chin for America's top show.
After Abdul moved on from this show they should have left it at three judges, like they had in the beginning, when things worked. But instead of listening to millions of people who agreed with me they anounced they WOULD be getting another judge. A punch in the gut... that might heal quickly depending on who they pick, but probaly not.
Instead of the bruise on their stomach healing, they got a bloody noise! Ellen, who knows SO much about music, would be the new judge. Then she started to talk about bananas on the show.
Finally to top this disaster sunday Simon announced this would be his last season because The X Facter is coming to the U.S.... Now that is when the producers took out a 24 and shot American Idol in the heart, it is slowly dying and will finally be dead at the start of next season. IDOL WILL BE DEAD!

American Idol
America’s Top Show Has Picked Its Top Eight

America’s favorite reality show, American Idol, is back and building tension in the air. People are realizing the singers that hypnotized them and left them longing for more may not keep cruising down the road if they don’t start voting. The topic has fans agreeing and arguing about whose hot and who is not, but whichever side is right the other one doesn’t care and won’t stop until the end of season 8 when they’ll be proven right.
This season is a season of firsts. A big addition to Idol was their fourth judge; Kara DioGuardi. The singer/songwriter has worked with many past Idols. She is a girl who brings spice and conflict to the show because she is not afraid to speak her mind. With Kara, you either love her or hate her, but no matter what you think you have to admit she added a lot to the show.
Another big that that was a shocker to contestants and the audience was something Simon revealed on “The Wild Card Show.” When they were down to the last two possible people to be in the Top 12, Simon told the judges’ choice. No one could of predicted what he was about to say. Anoop had just heard the other contestant’s name called. Simon Cowell said, just as you saw Anoop’s face start to droop, that this year they were making it a top 13, and he was the 13th contestant. When the 13 contestants arrived on the big stage, they found out another surprise. The judges can save a person from elimination if it is before the Final Five.
For Jasmine and Jorge, the big state was too much and the Michael Jackson songs weren’t good enough to have the judges save either of them.
The next week, the Top 11 sung “Grand Ole Opry.” Little powerhouse, jazzy Alexis’ Jolene didn’t agree with the public or the judges so they sent the petite little blonde home.
After the said good-bye to Alexis Grace, the Top 10 sang Motown songs. Michael, the roughneck with a baby at home, got compliments from “Smokey,” but not from the judges. He left with a smile on his face because he was coming home to a great baby and wife.
When the Top Nine sung songs from top downloads, Megan chose to turn the lights down low. The judges said Bob Marley just ain’t for her and so did the voters. She came home and went back to being a singer mother, but Megan Joy is still full of joy.
Which leaves us with our Top Eight on American Idol.
Adam is the crazy boy rocker and he and judges have a love/hate relationship. Paula has compared him to the best and Simon has called his song “indulgent nonsense.”
Which brings us to another rocker. Allison is a 16-year-old powerhouse rocker who the judges have fallen in love with. The real redhead has been torn down about her wardrobe though. She had “spikey-roll-out-of-bed hair” and a very rockesque outfit. Kara made the point that for Allison it doesn’t matter what she wears because no matter what rock vibes are just flowing out of her. Randy like that she sported her guitar.
“Anoop Dog is back” is how Randy Jackson put it. Anoop is a soulful pop artist that has had his ups and downs, but he has stayed a consistent threat to the rest of the competition.
Speaking of soulful singers, those words pretty much sum up Danny. Oh wait, three words would describe him, not two. AMAZING soulful singer! The spiked brown hair singer’s pipes continue to get great comments. The only thing about him the judges down agree on is his crazy-in-your-room-listening-to-tunes-freestyle-dancing. It might look a little crazy, but it’s not supposed to look good, choreographed or anything like that because it’s not. You know, it’s just one of those moves you do when you are having fun and you’re feeling the music and want to show it.
“L’il Rounds, I can guarantee you’ll be back for many more L’il Rounds!” is how Paula put it. L’il is a mother of three who put her dreams on hold so she could hold down the household. But when their house got destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, she wanted to make money so they could get a new one and she tried out for American Idol and became an instant judge favorite.
Scott Macentie has loved music since he was a little kid. He has had a hard life since he is legally blind. His performances have gotten great feedback. Besides singing, Scott’s other musical love is the piano. Paula told him she loves how good and comfortable he is with it, but would like to see him variable and be a stage man while he works the crowd without a piano.
Kris is a singer who in this competition has taken many big risks that have paid off. He keeps defying himself and changing songs to better complement his vocal range. Paula Abdul said “You made a 30-year-old song sound like it is the first time I have ever heard it.”
Which brings us to Matt, a pop artist that throws in a little soul and hip-hip influence. He plays the keyboard in many of his songs. With some major ups and downs, he has definitely made some fans that will support him even if he loses.
So clear your schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday and check your local listings to find out when American Idol will be on your TV. Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi will be there to summarize the performances. Ryan Seacreast will be the host that will guide you through the show. So if you’ve never watched before, this is the season to start!

the past and the present
I love the holidays! I have grown up celebrating more than one holiday in the winter because my dad is Jewish and my mom is a traditionalist Christian. My mom grew up in a Native American tribe called the Cherokees and my dad grew up in a Jewish village but when they were grown they both moved to my home town which is Maui, Hawaii we live by Venice Falls which if you don’t know is THE MOST beautiful thing you will EVER see! I love waking up to hear the water pouring down into the pool of water below. It is great to be able to look out your window and see such a beautiful site. My friend lives by Kahekili Beach so everyday during winter break I grab my bike and ride over to her house. We play a couple of board games that I have left over at her house for days like this and one that she and her brother have gotten as presents over the years! Then we get the swim suits that we have hidden in her beach bag (one is mine and one is hers) then put them on and grab towels fresh out of the dryer and put them in the bag. Api grabbed her skateboard and her poi which is a two year old Rottweiler who is gentle, sweet and a little hyper.
“A hui hou Ku`u ipo!” Api’s mother said. If you do not speech Hawaiian then just turn to the back of the book and look it up!
“A hui hou!” Api said as we walk out the door. And that is were we are right now today so let’s get going. So we are on the beach and I was in a striped Poni and Ke'oke'o bathing suit. Api was in a Melemele and 'Ula'ula polka-dotted bathing suit.
We are under our umbrella with her dog pouncing on us with his little paws. He is SO cute!
“Hey Kalea what type of flower is this?” Api asked me.
I looked at it very closely and examined it “This is a plumeria pua,” I am looking out at the beach the water looks so picture perfect. “Want to go find some shells for our necklaces and bracelets?”
“Sure!” So we’re leaving now so I’ll write the rest tonight after dinner. BYE for now! J J

Gone to the Dogs
I had I great life and I thought nothing
would ever change that. But I was sadly mistaken because in a couple of weeks my life would change forever and so would I! It started on a normal day; wait first let me tell you what a normal day was. I fell asleep curled up on the couch at about twelve o’clock. I woke up at about eight or nine o’clock and I heard howling which meant that my best friend was up. She was putting up a fight while having her mom hovering over her with a brush, just like every morning and as soon as I heard that I got up from the couch and started my morning routine.
Food was first and it was downstairs. After that I groomed myself and was off. Bare-foot and all; just like every morning. All I had to do was walk to the big oak tree in my yard and could already see that she was waiting; waiting for me. So we said good-morning. Then Shelby and I went off to go mess in the woods.
“So Chris how did hunting practice go?” Shelby asked just to try to make it seem like she was interested and to make conversation.
“It went pretty well but I like fishing better!” I said as I climbed up the fence.
“Well that’s cool! You’ll have to show me how to sometime,” she said while jumping over the fence.
Shelby was pretty big and tough for a girl. She was about seven and I was around five or six. If anyone looked at either one of us funny then Shelby would tackle them. I tried to pounce and get into the cat fight but by the time I would the job would have already be done so I didn’t try anymore.
Shelby was a lot more flexible than me. Probably then best gymnastic move I could do was stretching my arms! She was definitely a tom boy but if you told her that you would get knocked out.
Anyway we just got into my neighbor's yard. I suggested that we should play tag so we did.
“Who ever heard on a cat and dog playing tag?” Shelby asked.
And yes she is a dog and I’m a cat. A golden retriever and a tiger tabby are the main characters in this story and we’re the best of friends.
“You know I don’t like the term cat; it reminds me of my sister and I swear she’s a different species! And c’mon let’s go fishing!” I said running off. “Oh and the last one there gets the rotten fishhhhh!” I was off.
Of course we tied. I showed Shelby how I turned around backwards and put my bac
k claws in while keeping my balance (I used my back claws because I no longer had my front ones). Shelby tried it with her front claws but, instead of getting a snack from it she got a drink and swim.
“C’mon do the doggy paddle!” I said bursting a gut by laughing. Before I knew it I was doing the same thing after getting clonked by Shelby’s big paw.
Now I enjoy the water unlike my sister but, when I saw my arch numinous I took off running. I have never liked that tabby partly because when we first moved here he made fun of my sister and that’s my job! We got into a full out cat fight, no pun intended!

Idol is back
Idol is back with their new judge Kara DioGuardi; a singer/song writer. The four judges held auditions in Phoenix, AZ, Kansas City, Mo, San Francisco, CA, Louisville, KY, Salt Lake City, UT, Jacksonville, FL, San Juan, PR and New York. You can expect 114 people with golden tickets going to Hollywood and being tested, eliminated and defeated mentally and physically. Out of the crowd some will rise to the occasion and some will crack under pressure. Out of the entire crowd one star be found and their life will change forever.If you have never tuned-in before now is the perfect time to start. Simon Cowell is known as being a the harsh and truthful judge; he has created verious shows and judged on "Britain's Idol" as some call it but if you are a local then you will know it as X Factor (If you would like to learn more about Simon and his caree go to http://www.simoncowell.org/). Which bring me to the next judge, Paula Abdul; she has been a guest judge on X Factor after she was brought to Britain by Simon. She is known as the "judge with a heart" on AI and has lots of experience with the entertainment business. She was a VERY successful 80's singer. Kara DioGuardi has written over 100 #1 hit songs (To learn more about this great writer go to http://www.karadioguardi.com/main.html).The girls of A.I. seem REALLY close and they are. Kara and Paula actually used to live together. In 1999 they meet each other in New York in front of the Brooklyn Diner. DioGauri was not doing that good with her song writing career. Paula heard some of her music and was an instant fan, so Abdul told Kara to quit her job in Billboard Magazine and come live with her. Paula thought if DioGauri was out in the hot spot of music that she may get noticed and get some experience. Miss. Abdul introduced Kara to her music publishers and the name Kara DioGauri was starting to mean something to singers who needed a number one hit but didn't have someone to write it. The two-some lived together for a year or two. Paula was about to start writing and working on her come-back album in 2000 when she decided to ask her present room-mate to help her work on one of her new songs. So Abdul and DioGauri started to write Spinning Around along with Ira Spickman and Osborne Bingham. Paula did not have enough time to write and record other songs for that album at the time so she decided that it wasn't the right time to record an album and sold her soon-to-be hit song to Kylie Minogue.SO DON'T FORGET TO TUNE IN TO IDOL'S EIGHTH YEAR IN 2009
